Let’s break old models of leadership

And be the change the world needs!

Coaching rooted in self-trust, compassion, and courage in pursuit of a more just world.

I envision a world where sensitive people embrace their own style of leadership, grounded in confidence, compassion, and authenticity, using it to create a more socially, environmentally just society.

The world needs less toxic professionalism

Toxic Professionalism is the collection of oppressive standards set by supremacy culture, fueled by patriarchy, white supremacy, capitalism, ableism, classism (and, and, and).

People are conditioned to believe they should strive for perfection, permanence, projected progress, and people pleasing. This drowns out our own inner wisdom, clouds our judgment, and keeps us from pursuing true joy in our lives.

We need new modelS of leadership

We need leadership by sensitive, compassionate people who make big decisions, influence culture, and create a radically equitable, socially just, and accepting world.

The shift towards Kind Careerism allows us to make career (and life) decisions based on our own standards and values, while being kind to ourselves, kind to others, and challenging the unkind. I help my clients make this shift.

Hi, I’m Lauren Goldberg.

I’m a Self-discovery & Leadership Coach. I help people find what lights them up.

The things we are taught to feel shameful for are actually where we have power.*

ADHD. Dyslexia. Partial deafness. Layoff. Underemployment. Identity crisis. Feeling stuck. Fearing failure. Feeling left out.

These are some of the things for which mainstream society, supremacy culture, and toxic professionalism conditioned me to feel shameful throughout my life.

But now, I see these experiences have helped shape me, guide my perspective, and lead me in a direction I’m proud of.

I am a generalist. I’ve never had one specific thing I specialized in or a clear path I was following. My eclectic career includes a variety of sectors, with roles in program management, employee experience, and organizational culture, both internally and as a consultant.

I was conditioned, like everyone else in a capitalist culture, to believe our identity is what we do for work. So when work wasn’t going well, it felt like my whole life wasn’t going well. I was out of touch with who I am.

Every time I changed jobs, it felt like an identity crisis.

I’m your disco ball.

After navigating this career identity crisis again and again, I began to excavate the belief that tied my work to my identity, seeing myself as a human beyond my job title. Having navigated that transition every year or two, from “WTF am I doing with my life?” to feeling confident about my next thing, I gathered a lot of perspective and tools I knew could help other people navigate their career identity crisis and confidence challenges too.

In 2020, I started helping environmental and social impact folks navigate career transitions. It was transformative for them, and for me. I knew this was what I was meant to do.

Since then, I’ve continued to develop my skillset as a coach, allowing more flexibility and rapid results for clients. My coaching framework - the Kind Bold Badass Framework - guides changemakers to break free of boxes, build self-compassion, and advocate for a better world.

I’m here to be your professional disco ball. I reflect your light back at you so you can enjoy it and shine it on the world.

am I making the impact I want to make?

I constantly ask myself this question.

When it comes to coaching… I am! I’m able to help people transform the way they see themselves, their careers, their life, and the way they exist in the world.

All of my clients are impact-driven too. I’m helping the doers do. This is my role in the movement towards a better world. I’m not just helping people solve personal problems (which won’t solve the world’s problems). The way I coach helps people see themselves within systems and how it affects them. They act differently because of that awareness and the tools we’re building together. And that trickles out to all the people around them.

I’m doing this for all the people we interact with and the culture we create around us, and the ripple effect created.

Commitment to care, honesty, courage, and liberation.

Pursue Joy & Rest

Life is about more than productivity. Joy, rest, and play are essential ingredients of success and sustainability.

Relationships Are Everything

Growth happens through connection — to self, others, and the world. Self-love and compassion are radical acts that ripple outward.

Honor Your Energy & Needs

You are worthy of environments that honor your needs. Decisions that align with your values is the antidote to burnout.

Anti-Oppression, Pro-Liberation

We all have different advantages. Those advantages give us power to better the world for those historically marginalized: Black, Brown, Indigenous, queer, trans, and disabled people. Oppressive systems hurt us all. My liberation is tied to your liberation & their liberation. We are all in this together.

Treat Life as a Playground

Every experience is an experiment — a chance to gather data, learn, and evolve with curiosity instead of judgment. Energizing exploration as career development.

Kind Bold Badass

Courage looks like doing the things that scare and excite you. Say what you mean to say. Do what you want to do. Make the change. Ask for what you need. We can have grounded, unapologetic audacity without arrogance.

What I stand for:

• Black Lives Matter.

• Love is love.

• Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.  -Martin Luther King Jr.

• Bodily autonomy is a right.

• My liberation is tied to your liberation & their liberation.

My values-aligned business practices:

✓ Stay a small, main-street-boutique coaching practice rather than a big corporate company.

✓ Create content to help people recognize the systems we operate in, how they impacts us and our decision-making, and what to do differently. I strive to make my coaching as liberatory and anti-oppressive as possible.

✓ Offer flexible no-penalty payment plans to increase economic accessibility.

✓ Donate 5% of my revenue each quarter to a local social justice organization.

✓ Pay-it-forward option for unused sessions

✓ Continue to make everything I do and share more inclusive and accessible, like making captions and transcripts available for video content, adding image descriptions to visuals, and unlearning and avoiding ableist language.

Things that fuel me outside of work:

✺ Decorating my hearing aids and showing them off

✺ Snuggling with my cat

✺ Biking all over Rhode Island with my partner

✺ Learning American Sign Language

✺ Burning up a dance floor with my moves (even by myself!)

Let’s get to know each other!
